Verbena 'Lascar Orange Lava' 4 Inch

Put on your sunglasses when looking at this verbena! 'Lascar Orange Lava' is an attention-getter with its rounded clusters of red-orange flowers that can literally cover the dark green foliage at its peak. Mounding 12 inches or so then trailing even more, this heat-loving perennial will light up hanging baskets, container planters, or sunny borders in the summer garden. Though deadheading isn't necessary, a light haircut in August may refresh this verbena enough for blooms to keep coming right up to freeze. Hardy to zero degrees, 'Lascar Orange Lava' verbena may or may not reappear the following spring, depending upon how wet and cold the winter gets. If planted in portable pots or baskets, consider tucking the containers into a sheltered corner of the garden, then wait for spring.
