Verbena 'Lanai Deep Purple'

The Lanai series of verbena tend to bloom earlier than its cousins, and this 'Lanai Deep Purple' will add a touch of dark drama to any spring/summer hanging basket or container planter. Verbenas are wonderful companion plants to other annuals or summer-blooming perennials, adding finely serrated, slightly hairy leaves along with the wonderful clusters of small, star-shaped flowers. Give them plenty of sun, water adequately (especially in pots), and deadhead the spent blooms. Technically not necessary, it does seem to prolong the blooming season, and keeps your planters looking tidy.
