Thymus 'English 4 Inch

We suspect kitchens around the world will include a bottle of dried thyme, which is most likely English, aka Common, Thyme. Why not grow your own in a pot or out in the garden? This small, aromatic herb requires lots of sun, well-draining soil, and if in pots, regular watering during the summer months. A light shearing before blooming will keep the plant dense, and all those clippings can be dried for future use. As an evergreen, English thyme is available year-round and once established in the ground, is drought tolerant. Deer avoid it and pollinators love thyme if allowed to bloom.

Culinary Uses: Fresh or dried in sauces, marinades, soups, stews, cooked dishese

Harvest Time: Cut sprigs as needed. Shear stems prior to blooming for drying purposes.
