Product Description
Product Description
Conifers add a real Pacific NW look to home gardens but many become too large for average-sized lots. Thuja plicata, commonly known as western red cedar, offers smaller, more lot-friendly options, including 'Northern Spire.' A naturally pyramidal shaped tree, this specimen will average 15 to 20 feet tall and five feet wide at maturity. Regular watering in the first year or two after planting, especially during hot weather, may actually speed the growth of 'Northern Spire.' Relatively easy to maintain, it is usually ignored by deer and becomes somewhat drought-tolerant once established. The dark green foliage may take on bronze hues during the winter.
