'Smaragd' is technically a semi-dwarf conifer, typically 12 to 14 feet tall and three to four feet wide at maturity, making it a natural as a privacy screen. Its narrow profile works well in smaller gardens as a specimen tree, with scale-like needles growing in dense, flattened fans.
