Planted in the ground or in containers (hanging or otherwise), there's nothing quite like picking perfectly ripe berries from the garden and popping them in one's mouth. 'Hawaiian Berry' is a unique everbearing variety, producing small, pale-apricot colored (almost white) berries starting in June, and has a subtle pineapple flavor. Plant this one with any other red-berried variety to increase yields.
Make sure your strawberry plants get at least six hours of sun per day, more if possible, for best flavor. One of the bigger challenges of growing strawberries is defending them from slugs. We've got lots of suggestions but nothing is foolproof. Come visit us for ideas!
