Product Description
Yellow crookneck squash can be grown in exactly the same conditions as zucchini squash and these two summer squashes can cross-pollinate, resulting in interesting variations. Gardeners love summer squash because they grow so quickly; however, yellow crookneck squash plants will take up lots of real estate, usually sprawling three to four feet wide and two feet tall. Pick fruits when they're no more than six inches long for smallest seeds and tender skins, and frequent harvesting will only encourage more fruits to form.
As is true of most squashes, yellow crookneck squash needs lots of sun and regular watering. Plants should be watered at the base and not from overhead, as wet leaves are more prone to powdery mildew.
