Sorbaria sorbifolia 'Sem' 1 Gallon

Sem' False Spirea is one of those deciduous shrubs that may change the minds of gardeners who emphatically want "only evergreens." Beautiful fern-like foliage emerges in the spring in varying shades of pinkish bronze, then matures into a vibrant green. Somewhat smaller than other varieties of Sorbaria, 'Sem' can grow four to six feet tall and wide at maturity, and provide a striking textural note to hillsides, woodland gardens, or large container planters. For those who don't mind the loss of foliage in the fall, 'Sem' can also be used as an informal hedge.  White flowers appear in the summer, attracting bees and other pollinators, though we feel they are secondary to the stunning foliage.  
'Sem' (aka Ural) False Spirea can be pruned in the early spring to control suckers or reduce the size of the shrub.
