Skimmia japonica Male and Female 1 Gallon

Skimmia is one of those plants that need both a male and female plant to produce red berries on female shrubs. Not so, this variety of Japanese skimmia, that we believe is 'Temptation.' Self-pollinating, it is a female plant that will produce masses of pinkish white blooms in the spring that turn into red berries from fall and into the winter. 'Temptation' forms a rounded shrub about three feet tall and wide at maturity, adding year-round interest and color to shady gardens. Slow to reach its maximum size, this skimmia is a great choice for container planters, shady borders, or mass plantings. Its leaves will scorch if placed in too sunny a location, but is otherwise considered low maintenance. Pet owners may wish to keep skimmia out of the reach of chewing pets as the whole plant can cause digestive distress if ingested.
