Sempervivum 'Lavender & Old Lace' 4 inch

Lavender & Old Lace' may seem a misnomer for this hens and chicks variety if grown in too little sun or seen in the winter, as the fleshy leaves will be a silvery green with nary a lavender shade in sight. Given a sunny location and adequate water (yes, succulents do need water, especially when getting established), this variety will take on pink to lavender tones. Fine hairs edge the leaves, earning the "lace" part of the name. 'Lavender & Old Lace' Hens and Chicks flowers in the summer to fall, and having done so, the "hen" will die, leaving room for the little chicks to grow and become hens themselves. This is a terrific addition to succulent planters and hanging baskets, as well as borders and dry areas of the garden.
