Though there are many varieties of Hens and Chicks that are green with red tips, 'Tip Top' tends to stand out with maroon coloring bleeding into the green, and sometimes adding touches of gold when given ample direct sunlight. The offsets, or chicks, also grow from between the leaves of the hen on short stolons.
