Fresh green scalloped leaves form a dense mat two to three inches tall and eventually spreads up to a foot wide, capable of supressing weeds. Pink flowers top the foliage in late summer to fall, attracting bees and butterflies. As is true of most stonecrops, 'John Creech' does best in a sunny location with well-draining soil, so is an excellent candidate for container planters and hanging baskets, as well as those infrequently watered areas of the yard. Foliage and stems take on red hues as the temperatures drop, adding interest to the fall and winter garden.
