Schlumbergera 'Orange Flame'

Tropical plants are a favorite at this time of year for indoor color, and Christmas cacti will only get bigger and better year after year. These four-inch specimens will easily fill an eight or ten-inch pot at maturity, with graceful, arching stems and a plethora of blooms during the holiday season. Be patient with this plant as it may need time to adjust to its surroundings. Lots of indirect light will produce the most blooms; the foliage may take on a reddish tinge if exposed to direct sun. If the flat segments of your cactus feel slightly flaccid, that's the time to water it thoroughly (water comes out of the bottom hole), then wait until the soil is dry before watering again.
