Schismatoglottis 'Thailand'

When we first saw this Drop Tongue Plant, we thought it might be a variety of aglaonema or a Camouflage plant, and no surprise, they're all in the same family. This specimen has pretty standard needs for a tropical houseplant - a well-lit room, higher humidity than humans enjoy, and watering only when the soil is dry. Its mottled green and white foliage will form a mound about one to two feet tall and wide, and given the right conditions, may produce flowers similar to those of a peace lily (also in the same family). The Drop Tongue plant will let you know when it needs water, as the leaves will literally start to droop, but will perk up quickly, once watered.
