This perennial can be grown for its late summer flowers or as an addition to the herb garden. The taste of young leaves is reminiscent of walnuts.

Product Description

Great Burnet is a perennial native to western North America and specifically the Pacific NW, forming clumps of serrated leaflets about two to three feet tall and wide with wine-red bottlebrush like flowers appearing in mid-summer to the fall. Young foliage may be used in salads or cooked dishes, with a flavor vaguely reminiscent of walnuts. This lovely native is a wonderful addition to wildflower gardens; however, spent blooms should be removed if you don't want this plant to spread, as it reseeds easily.
