Product Description
Hummingbird lovers will add just about every salvia possible to their garden to attract their flying friends, and from a gardener's standpoint, it's great that there are so many different varieties that thrive in the Pacific NW. 'Free Speech' salvia is similar to its cousin, 'Hot Lips,' but its flowers stay red all season long. Two to three feet tall and about two feet wide at maturity, 'Free Speech' may keep its foliage over winter but will benefit from pruning in early spring before the new growth emerges. The leaves are fragrant when bruised, probably why deer aren't particularly fond of them, and this salvia is drought tolerant once established. Bottom line, 'Free Speech' salvia is a wonderful addition to any sunny garden.
