Scotch Moss is actually not a moss, and a good thing, too! That means it can grow in areas with full to filtered sun, and does best with at least half-day sun. Keeping below three inches tall, it can spread to 12 inches wide, forming a dense, bright golden carpet that sends up small, star-like white flowers in the spring. Better yet, it tolerates some foot traffic, so it's a great option for planting between pavers or along walkways. Scotch Moss is a great addition to fairy gardens or container planters, providing a nice pop of color and textural interest as well.
