Raspberry 'Meeker' 1 Gallon

Raspberries are one of those berries that taste best when fresh-picked. 'Meeker' raspberries were developed at WA State University specifically for the Pacific NW climate, producing large, sweet, thimble-shaped berries in June or July. All-day sun will produce the tastiest berries, and be sure to provide support for canes that will grow four to six feet tall, and spread three to four feet wide. 'Meeker' raspberries flower and fruit on second year canes, so don't expect a crop until one to two years after planting. As to maintenance, a mnemonic to help remember what to prune, €œAfter fruiting, if the cane is green, let it be seen, if the cane is brown, cut it down."
