This is a cultivar of Oregon's state tree, the Douglas Fir, and purportedly was found as a witch's broom at Les Barres Arboretum in France.

Product Description

There are as many stories regarding Douglas fir trees on the internet as there are trees, so the origin of 'Les Barres' Douglas fir is hard to determine, much less its growing habits and traits. This is allegedly a dwarf cultivar of Pseudotsuga menziesii, and its ultimate size is unclear. Because it is such a slow grower, 'Les Barres' Douglas Fir is an appropriate choice for smaller gardens or large container planters. Sun and regular water are needed for best results, especially when temps ramp up into the 90s and 100s, as they have in recent Pacific NW summers.
