Portulaca 'Confetti Garden Cupcake Party' 6 Inch

During the dog days of summer when all those gloriously lush hanging baskets are beginning to get just a wee bit tired looking, moss roses do just fine, and 'Confetti Garden Cupcake Party' portulaca proves the point. A member of the purslane family, moss roses have fleshy, succulent-like stems and leaves that can withstand the heat and sun, often taking on reddish tones as succulents are wont to do. Low-growing and spreading, they do well in pots by themselves, act as trailers when planted in a succulent planter with sedums or hens and chicks, or create a nice low growing mat in borders. The single-petaled flowers are quite delicate looking and open and close with the sun.
