The name 'Aoi' is a bit difficult for English speakers to pronounce but this White Pine is definitely worth seeking out when one wants a blue-toned conifer for a smaller garden. Short, straight needles are silvery blue on one side and green on the other, with silver-gray bark and small cones for additional visual interest. Patience is required for 'Aoi' to reach its mature size, but that very characteristic makes it an excellent choice for container planters or as a small patio tree.
