Philodendron 'Red Sun'

Philodendrons are a tried and true house plant and often tolerate lower light and "benign neglect." However, this particular variety may be best served if it is given ample indirect light, as its new growth will be its showiest with a well-lit exposure. 'Red Sun' is a compact, upright variety, reaching one to two feet in height and width at maturity. New leaves emerge a bright red, then darken as they age, eventually becoming a shiny green. Consider pairing this specimen with other houseplants to start, but it may be happiest in a pot of its own as it get larger.
