Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil' 6 Inch

The cool thing about heartleaf philodendrons is that they are so easy to grow and propagate. They do better with a bit of benign neglect rather than too much attention, and yes, we agree, it's hard to ignore 'Brasil.' Heart-shaped leaves are a stunning mix of dark and lime green, mounding a bit before trailing over the sides of hanging baskets or container planters. Want to keep the foliage away from chewing pets? Consider training 'Brasil' up a moss pole. Whether it trails or climbs, 'Brasil' does best in a well-lit room with indirect light, and thorough watering (as in water comes out of the bottom of the pot) when the top one to two inches of soil is dry. If your philodendron gets too long, simply clip off a stem just above a leaf node, strip off the bottom two to three leaves of the cutting, and pop it into water. Roots should form in about three to four weeks. In the meantime, your main plant will push out even more stems from the base, making it denser.
