Product Description
Bulbs are one of those garden wonders that seem to just keep on giving. Grape hyacinths are especially reliable, coming back year after year, and naturalizing when given space and optimal growing conditions. Small strappy green leaves provide a pleasing backdrop for fragrant, cobalt blue flowers that appear in the spring, bringing out bees and butterflies. Mass plantings can be truly eye-catching, but don't hesitate to plant grape hyacinths in and amongst other spring bloomers, in borders, container planters, and even hanging baskets. These plants are on the dainty side, growing six to eight inches tall and barely three to six inches wide. However, they do spread by bulb offsets each year with little help from gardeners and are not overly aggressive. The leaves will die back as the weather warms, but don't be surprised when new leaves appear in the fall. Did we mention that these are cute cut flowers as well? Bring some indoors to enjoy the grapey fragrance!
