Mint 'Spearmint' 4 Inch

Spearmint is a favorite summertime herb, adding a fresh minty flavor to cold beverages and salads. Though it can grow in partial shade, mint has the best flavor when grown in sunny locations with regular watering. As is true of all mints, spearmint can quickly take over a bed if planted directly in the ground, so best to confine it to container planters, hanging or otherwise. Spearmint grows quickly to 18 inches or more in height and up to three feet wide, but it will die back for the most part in winter. Leaves may picked as needed throughout the growing season and a light shearing will keep the plant a more manageable, bushier shape. Cut stems will root easily in water, and can be brought indoors during the winter months.
