Once people find out that touching a Sensitive plant will cause its leaves to immediately close up, few are able to resist the temptation to do so. This member of the pea family makes an entertaining houseplant, growing 12 to 36 inches tall and about as wide. A bright exposure with higher humidity will keep this mimosa looking its best, and it may even bloom, although the plant itself will die afterwards. Consider it an indoor annual (like all those summer blooming annuals), lasting about one year.
