Lavandula 'Aromatico Blue Improved'

Aromatico Blue Improved' lavender is one of the smaller varieties of English lavender we carry at the nursery. Topping out around 18 inches tall and about a foot wide, this variety is also one of the earlier bloomers, sending up short fragrant violet blue spikes in late spring and into the summer. 'Aromatico Blue Improved' forms a low, narrow mound, and benefits from a light trim in late winter or early spring to maintain its dense shape. As are most lavenders, this one is a sun-lover, is drought tolerant once established, and does not appeal to deer. This is also one of the more intensely fragrant varieties and would be perfect for individuals who harvest the blooms for aroma therapy. Plant 'Aromatico Blue Improved' in borders near the patio or in hanging baskets so that humans can catch the heady fragrance. Bees, hummingbirds and butterflies will also enjoy the blooms.
