Hoya 'Rosita' 2 Inch

If you look closely at 'Rosita,' you'll notice that the long, elliptical leaves are edged in maroon and the leaf color varies from dark green to reddish tones. The brighter the exposure this hoya receives, the greater the red/bronze coloration. Consider planting several different hoya varieties in a single pot with some climbing up supports (decorative or utilitarian, your choice) and others left to trail. Given sufficient light, hoyas may bloom during the spring and/or summer, forming round balls of flowers. Rosita is slow to bloom but when it does, expect red flower clusters with yellow tips. Hoyas prefer well-lit rooms, and they can live outdoors in dappled shade during the summer. Water these succulent-like plants deeply but infrequently, and they should be happy campers.
