Hoya cumingiana Quart

Hoyas are a wonderful starter plant for beginning indoor gardeners, partly because they're so forgiving of neglect, but also because they grow beautifully indoors when given optimal lighting and humidity. This Bush Plant is a bit unusual for a hoya because of its small leaves and the close spacing of said leaves, making a much denser plant than other varieties. Its flowers are also unusual with yellow petals and a reddish center, and unlike other hoyas, the Bush Plant doesn't rebloom from the same peduncle, or flower cluster. (And yes, that means one should leave the spent flower clusters on other varieties of hoya, because they will bloom again later. Cool, eh?). Based on what we could glean from the internet, this variety doesn't get as big as other hoyas, but the weight of the stems will make them trail somewhat.
Water deeply only when the top inch of soil is dry, and if one forgets to water it, the Bush Plant will usually forgive such an oversight. Too much water will most likely cause root rot, so don't be a helicopter gardener!
