Hosta 'Remember Me' 4 Inch

The naming of new plants is sometimes a mystery until you know the backstories. Developed by Walters Gardens from a sport of Hosta 'June,' 'Remember Me' was named in honor of a long-time employee of the nursery that loved that plantain lily and died of breast cancer in 2001. This is a poignant name for a striking variety that starts out a vivid yellow and green then turns a creamy white with irregular green edges by the summer. Though a shade plant, 'Remember Me' will exhibit the greatest color change when grown in dappled sun or morning sun and afternoon shade. Standing a bit over a foot tall, it can spread twice as wide, forming a shade-brightening mound of color with lavender flower spikes in the summer. Its smaller size makes it a great choice for container planters, hanging baskets, and borders.
