Geum 'Totally Tangerine'

Totally Tangerine' avens is literally a standout in the summer garden, with a much longer blooming period than older varieties of geum on a much larger plant. Developed in 1999 by a British nurseryman, 'Totally Tangerine' has sterile flowers, thus extending the blooming period from late spring into early fall. The fuzzy green basal leaves form a clump about a foot tall and up to 18 inches wide, with bright orange flowers rising 30 inches in the air. Bees, butterflies and other pollinators will zero in on them and of course, gardeners will love to bring cut flowers indoors. Allegedly deer-resistant, geum will die down in the winter and return in the spring.
