Fatshedera lizei 'Angyo Star' 2 Gallon

Cross Fatsia japonica with English ivy (hedera), and you get Fatshedera lizei, or a climbing fatsia without the aggressive nature of ivy. Named for the plant district in Tokyo (who knew there was such a thing?), 'Angyo Star' is an unusual evergreen option for the shade garden. Though hardy down to 5 degrees, it might be safest to plant this unique specimen in a container planter so it can be moved to a more sheltered location in the winter. Growing up to five feet tall and almost as wide, consider training 'Angyo Star' as an espalier or up a trellis. The cream and green, ivy-shaped leaves will make a vibrant contrast to ferns, shade-loving grasses, or ground covers such as sarcococca.
