Winter heath is a low-growing, almost trailing evergreen shrub that is often covered in white blooms from late winter into early spring. Only six to twelve inches tall, 'Springwood White' can spread up to 18 inches, trailing over the edges of container planters and hanging baskets, or any sunny spot where gardeners most want to see winter color. Drought tolerant once established, it's best to keep winter heath watered regularly when first planted. This is a low-maintenance plant that is well-suited for sunny exposures and works well on banks and hillsides.
