Episcia cupreata 'Cleopatra'

In the same family as African violets, this Flame violet has fuzzy oval, pink-edged leaves with the shape of a green oakleaf in the middle. Ideal for hanging baskets or pots placed up on a shelf or stand, the hairy stems may reach 12 to 24 inches long. Single, tubular red flowers appear seasonally as long as the plant is placed in a well-lit area (indirect sun). Flame violets need higher humidity, but their leaves will be damaged by misting, so place the pot on a pebble-filled saucer with water halfway up to add more moisture to the air.
