Cyclamen 'Elegante Dark Violet'

Unlike most outdoor garden perennials, cyclamen are at their peak during the fall through spring, going dormant during the summer. As a house plant, cyclamen provide the indoor color we crave right around the holidays. Vibrant blooms rise above the rounded, variegated leaves, forming a tight mound 10 to 12 inches tall and about 9 inches wide. Deadhead the spent blooms and the flowers just keep on coming. Depending upon indoor conditions, your cyclamen may not go completely dormant during the summer, though it will stop blooming and won't look its best. Be patient, back off on watering, and it should come back.
