Cuphea 'Hummingbirds Lunch' 4 Inch

Hummingbirds Lunch' cuphea gives salvia a run for it money as a hummingbird magnet. When we have this specimen on our nursery tables, hummingbirds will stake these flowers out, some even trying to ward off humans and other hummers alike. Like many cupheas, this one forms a tidy rounded mound, anywhere from 12 to 24 inches tall and up to 24 inches wide, with cherry-red, cigar-shaped blooms covering the clean green foliage from late spring right up to freeze. If planted in the ground, 'Hummingbirds' Lunch' cuphea handles dry soil once established, and does well in container planters and hanging baskets with adequate water and fertilizer.
