Cucumber 'Asian' 4 inch

To be honest, we don't know what variety this Asian cucumber is. We think it is a Japanese cucumber, but it could be a Suyo Long. What Asian cucumbers have in common is that they are typically longer and thinner than grocery-store slicing cucumbers (closer to English cucumbers), have thin skins (no need to peel), and small seeds. They also have a crisp texture and a pleasing mild cucumber flavor. Most Asian cucumbers are considered "burpless," that is, they are low in the plant compound that makes cucumbers bitter, but regular deep watering when the soil is fully dry will help ensure a sweet cuke. Asian cucumbers are wonderful fresh, and they can be pickled as well.
