As common as the Jade plant is as a houseplant, there is no denying how attractive a specimen it is, and with very little effort on the part of the gardener. Not the fastest grower, a jade plant can eventually reach three to six feet in height and two to three feet wide. We have two large specimens in the nursery that were re-homed to us when the original owners could no longer care for them. As is true of most succulents, Jade plants do better with benign neglect rather than too much care. That is, give it plenty of indirect light, water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil is dry, and leave it alone. Jade plants can be moved outdoors during the summer but could get scorched if left in the all-day sun, so consider a slightly shadier spot.
