Plant names are tricky, even the botanical ones. This grayleaf cotoneaster is different from the native that originated in China, and stays a more modest three to four feet tall and up to eight feet wide.
Product Description
Product Description
Grayleaf cotoneaster is a small-leafed evergreen shrub that bears white flowers in the spring and red berries in the fall. Though it has the same botanical name as a plant originating from China, this horticultural variety is vastly different in size and even leaf size. Arching branches form a fairly dense mound, averaging three to four feet tall and up to eight feet wide. Birds will appreciate the berries in the fall and winter. Deer aren't particularly interested in it if other preferred foliage is available. This cotoneaster works well on hillsides or as informal hedges.
