Corn 'Yellow Supersweet' 4 Inch

Here in the Portland Metro area, the summers of 2021-2022 saw hotter days than normal, both in intensity and duration. If this trend continues, corn growers may rejoice, as the higher temps will produce better crops. 'Yellow Supersweet' has twice the amount of sugar as other varieties, and may well be worth the effort of growing your own. Eight foot tall stalks can produce eight to nine-inch ears of delicious corn after 85 days or so. Be sure to plant your corn starts in squares with plants eight to 12 inches apart, in rows that are at least two feet apart. Kernel development depends upon wind pollination and the larger the square, the better the results.

Harvest Time: Approximately 85 days after transplanting. Ears are ready when silk is brown but not dried.
