There is such an array of Hinoki cypresses, just about any gardener would be able to find one suitable for their particular needs, short of full shade or boggy conditions. That said, many Hinoki cypresses, including 'Nana Lutea,' are naturally small and slow-growing, thus adapting well to container planters. This Golden Dwarf Hinoki Cypress tops out around four feet tall and three feet wide, with glorious golden yellow foliage that may take on more chartreuse tones in shadier settings. Inner foliage will be a darker green, making the yellow tones stand out all the more.
