Canna 'Cleopatra'

Canna 'Cleopatra' is for gardeners who like surprises. Called "unstable" by growers, 'Cleopatra' may produce yellow flowers spotted with red, red flowers, or both, and all on the same flower stalk. The large lance shaped leaves are equally unpredictable with some all green and others streaked with chocolate brown. Cannas are tolerant of wet areas, so consider planting them at pond or stream edges.  
'Cleopatra' also takes well to container planters, but give it plenty of room because it can quickly grow three to four feet tall and two to three feet wide. Since this variety is hardy down to 10 degrees, consider moving the planter under the eaves or into a sheltered spot in the garden once the temps start to drop.
