Begonia 'T-Rex Painter s Palette' 6 Inch

Rex begonias' flowers are nothing compared to the flash of summer blooming annual begonias or tuberous begonias, but the leaves are in a class by themselves. The roughly pointed leaves   of 'T-Rex Painter's Palette' are decidedly prehistoric looking and are as colorful as a painter's palette, with white splashed edges and black- or charcoal tones overlaying red and green leaves. These add fabulous texture and color to summer shade baskets and container planters, and can be grown indoors year-round. A local grower states that 'T-Rex Painter's Palette' begonia has successfully wintered over in the ground at its Oregon gardens for several years, although the plants are heavily mulched to protect them from winter weather. Consider planting this ornate begonia in a pot that can be brought indoors during the fall and summer for simplified gardening.
