Athyrium niponicum pictum 'Pearly White'

Lacy, silvery-green fronds of this Japanese Painted fern will add lovely texture and color to the summer shade garden. Yes, this one does die back in the winter, but it adds a fresh spot of color to borders and container planters, hanging or otherwise. Unlike other Japanese Painted ferns, 'Pearly White' lacks any pink or red tones, and would be a standout in mixed shade planters of white and green - think hostas, white tuberous begonias, and perhaps white torenias.
