Product Description
The Shoebutton Plant (so named because the black berries resemble old-fashioned shoe buttons) is one of those tropical specimens that is positively invasive in its natural habitat but makes a lovely, shrub-like plant for indoor enjoyment. New growth emerges a pale red that matures to a fresh green, with plants growing slowly up to two feet tall and not quite as wide. Place this plant in a well-lit room and water thoroughly when the top soil is dry. If you're lucky, it may produce clusters of tiny pink flowers that turn into red then black berries. We were unable to determine if Ardisia is toxic to pets, though the plant purportedly has many medicinal applications for humans.
