Alocasia bisma

The Platinum alocasia is a relatively new cultivar, and thus, the name will most likely change. This variety is small compared to other alocasias, topping out around two feet tall and wide, but its unique, silvery blue, leathery leaves give it a big presence in the indoor garden. Place in an east or west-facing window for the best coloring and place on a pebble tray to raise the humidity. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry, and do not let the pot sit in water. Alocasias go dormant in the winter, so resist the urge to water them too much when they're resting.
