Product Description
When gardeners think of bulbs for the garden, daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips immediately come to mind. Ornamental onions are much less common but pack a unique punch with their large, globe-shaped blooms that appear in late spring to early summer. 'Ivory Queen' Turkistan Onion is an unusual dwarf with equally unusual blue-green leaves, growing six to twelve inches tall and six to eight inches wide. A large perfect globe of white star-shaped flowers stands up to 12 inches tall and is fragrant - sweet and not at all oniony. 'Ivory Queen' ornamental onion will naturalize over time, providing more amazing flower stalks year after year. This allium does best in well-draining soil so consider growing 'Ivory Queen' in container planters, hanging or otherwise.
