Ajuga reptans 'Metallica Crispa' 4 Inch

This bugleweed variety was well-named, as its shiny green to purple-bronze leaves are indeed crisp looking and take on a metallic sheen as the leaves mature. Ajuga performs well in shadier locations of the garden, forming a dense ground cover, but can handle all-day filtered sun. Deep blue flower spikes appear in late spring to summer, contrasting nicely against the thick foliage. Consider using 'Metallica Crispa' in hanging baskets and container planters for a nice textural trailer, and it often holds up throughout our Pacific NW winters. If it does happen to brown out, it will return with vigor in the spring.
