Agapanthus africanus 'Double Diamond'

Though small in stature, this lily of the Nile stands out with its semi-double to double white flowers on stalks barely a foot tall. Perfect for container planters or even hanging baskets, 'Double Diamond' will add vertical interest when in bloom, and will provide lush texture with its narrow strap-like leaves. Mostly evergreen, agapanthus leaves may get a bit tired looking over the winter but new growth will come on strong in the spring, and old leaves can be pruned back. Needless to say, hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators love the stalks of trumpet-shaped flowers. Better yet, these flowers rarely set seed pods, so blooms will keep coming a bit longer.
