'Kumoi Nishiki,' sometimes called Variegated Full Moon Maple, has large, simple leaves with 9 to 11 lobes, so the paint-splatter effect is quite distinct throughout the spring and summer. Variegated cream and green leaves turn orange and yellow in the autumn before falling from the tree. Growing to about 15 feet tall and 12 feet wide by the 10-year mark, this variety is a stunning specimen well suited to smaller gardens and large container planters. Keep it watered during the hot summer months and if the leaves scorch, consider moving it to a place with afternoon shade.
